Delay Send using Outlook on the Web

Modified on Wed, 19 Mar at 10:31 AM

When you delay the delivery of an email sent from your shared mailbox, the email will sit in your personal Outbox rather than the shared mailbox's Outbox. This means that only you can see and edit the email before it is sent. If you need other users to be able to edit or cancel the email before it is sent, you might need to use specific rules or settings.

To set up a delayed send in Outlook on the web:

  1. Compose your email: Click New Message and write your email.
  2. Select the Shared Mailbox: Click Options, followed by "Show From" and select the appropriate shared mailbox from the "from field". Next fill in your intended recipients.
  3. Set the delay: Click the drop-down menu on the send bar followed by "schedule send". Select the date and time that you want your message to be sent.
  4. Send the email: Click Send. The email will be held for the specified delay time before being sent.
